TACTILE TEACHING AIDS
2013

Hope lives inside tools too.
The impact of special education seemed far more impressionable on the families of those who are differently abled than the students themselves. Special parents wanted to see their children live on their own – independent of their assistance. A little bit of dignity & agency.
& When they’d ask “Is it possible ? Will he be able to learn ?” It felt easier to offer reassurance & say “Yes, there are tools for it. There are aids for it.” When parents can see & hold a method in their hands, their fear slowly warms up to belief.
This was an academic research project at Muskaan Foundation for the Multiply & Differently Abled. It involved creating tactile books, with braille & other materials.
Like those several drops that make the sea, teaching aids added to their hope.
