One object a day. No brief. No outcome. What started in wonder has become a design research practice focused on everyday objects that quietly support our lives. The project explores how products carry emotional weight, how services shape behaviour, and how environments influence who we become — often without being noticed.
Through documenting objects, their histories and the people behind them, Backgrounding maps the emotional and cultural infrastructure of design.
